Fly or freewheel through the trees in the Forest of Dean

Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire

Hire bikes and go exploring, fly through the air on a zip wire or paddle down the river on a watery adventure.

With such fabulous scenery and places to explore, the Forest of Dean is a great place to go for a walk and is dog-friendly too. Marvel at the wildlife, follow the superb 4½  mile long sculpture trail with 16 sculptures displayed in the forest or spot a movie scene or two.

Get the family out on bikes at Pedalabikeaway. Choose an easy route or be more adventurous, enjoying a healthy dose of fresh air and freedom. For adrenaline seekers, take an exhilarating zip wire through the trees with Go Ape and Forest of Dean Adventure, feeling nothing but air underfoot and taking in the views below – if you dare look!

Or for something more sedate, paddle your way down the river with Way 2 Go Adventures in a kayak.
