Discover the fictional home of Home Fires

Bunbury, Cheshire

Follow in the footsteps of the Great Paxford Women’s Institute with a visit to the picturesque Cheshire village of Bunbury.

If you’re a fan of the TV series Home Fires, which was inspired by the book ‘Jambusters’, then you’ll enjoy a visit to Bunbury. This pretty village which sits in the Cheshire countryside, provides the setting for Great Paxford in the hit series which follows the women of the village as they cope with the dramas of World War II.

Pose for a picture outside one of the recognisable landmarks including St Boniface’s Church and R.F. Burrows and Sons, which is Brindsley’s Butchers in the series. Enjoy a pint in The Nags Head and treat yourself to some delicious fish and chips from The Village Chippy.

Cheshire is becoming an increasingly popular destination for filming and Home Fires is just one of many productions to be filmed here, giving you plenty of choice of other great destinations and attractions to visit.
