Couples twirl round a vast dancefloor, be it in the final of a dance competition, or enjoying an afternoon tea dance. Much inspiration from graceful movement can also be found in the excellent  Sadlers Wells programme of events.

For something different, tap your feet along to the particularly English custom of  Morris Dancing . Sticks and handkerchiefs are brandished to folk music as celebrations take place in the streets.

If instead, you want to strut your stuff to big name bands, head to one of the arenas in England’s big cities. Manchester's   MEN is a good bet. For a slice of Beatles-mania, visit  The Cavern Club in Liverpool. Or go classical in one of the finest concert halls in the world, the Symphony Hall in  Birmingham .
